Half-Minute Hero: Super Mega Neo Climax Edition

Half-Minute Hero was released about two years ago and was touted one of the most exciting RPGs of all time. Indeed, gamers from all over the world scrambled to buy the game the moment it was released and it became the best selling RPG within months. No one could deny that Half-Minute Hero wasn't worth all the hype.

Half-Minute Hero: Super Mega Neo Climax Edition is the latest release and is the sequel to the first game. It has a brand new interface with HD graphics with awesome sound and scenes that make it another sure winner. For those who love RPGs, you can't go far wrong from getting your hands on a copy of this game.

The world is under threat once more and you play three characters in the game who try and save the world from extinction. An evil lord, a knight and a princess are the last hopes mankind has. On each level you move around as quickly as possible fighting random battles and if you don't get to the highest point in a certain amount of time, the world is lost. You collect items, like health, and money on your quest. There are many hidden treasures which add to the excitement of the game. You ride beasts of fire, talk with bats, and some other cool stuff. It's pretty much the same as the first game, except the graphics are vastly improved.

There are different modes which get revealed when you complete your missions successfully and they are not all RPGs. You'll find some pretty surprises that will make the game more enjoyable as it deviates from the main theme. You need to concentrate and play wisely. Time is short and you can't afford to roam aimlessly as death is always an ever present danger. The battles are hard and require clear thinking on your part. You can buy armor and weapons with the cash you collect and improve your combat skills.

Sometimes you need to avoid evil spells that get more powerful as the game progresses and even lesser evils await you at every corner. You will be motivated to replay the game over and over to improve your combat skills. The gameplay is quite addictive and you will not put the controls down for minor disturbances. The characters are fairly easy to control and the movements are smooth and responsive. You should master all the moves quickly at the beginning stages of the game.

You can play online with real people and this is more exciting than playing the CPU. Half-Minute Hero: Super Mega Neo Climax Edition will appeal to children and adult gamers alike. The narrative doesn't have any language restrictions so younger children can enjoy the game as well.

Comparing the two versions may be a bit unfair. The original always has the advantage over the first. The sequel in this instance will serve as a reminder that the first game was totally new and provided gamers with something they didn't see before. The sequel has all of the first ones advantages, but some people may feel they are playing the old game, with a little touch up.

The Three Main Super Mario Games Series

Who doesn't know about Super Mario games? There are at least three major installments, with hundreds - if not thousands - of variations available worldwide. He is that short Italian-American plumber who lives in New York. As a plumber, he goes down the sewers until he comes across the world called the Mushroom Kingdom. Mario has a brother Luigi and together they help to rescue Princess Toadstool from the evil claws of King Koopa.

The first Mario Bros arcade game was released in 1983 wherein Mario and Luigi play the main antagonist roles. This was the starting point of the very famous Super Mario games series that many people love around the world. Players become engaged to the game mainly because of its exciting storyline and colorful backgrounds. The game is set in many worlds and that fact alone gives players the push they need to finish the game.

The first Mario Bros game series is indeed a very engaging one. Being composed of eight worlds, each of them has a castle where King Koopa have kept the princess. Mario has to conquer each of these worlds, enter the castle, and defeat the minion of King Koopa that defends each of them. Mario has to go through a number of Koopa's henchmen in the form of turtles, monkeys, and bullets, among others.

The second Super Mario games series was simply entitled Mario Bros 2. After the successful rescue of the princess, players can choose between four characters: Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, or Toad. Each of these characters has unique and special abilities that will help the player in the adventure. Luigi is the one who can jump the highest. Toad is most reliable when it comes to digging. Princess Peach has the ability to float. Mario however, has a little of each of these abilities.

Super Mario Bros 3 is the third and last installment of the Super Mario game series. Here, the quest of saving the Princess is restored. Mario has to go through eight new different worlds in order to rescue her, but the battle is much fiercer now. King Bowser now has children who were called the Koopalings. Altogether, they are determined to keep Mario and his brother away from the princess. Mario and Luigi are provided with power-ups that will give him better abilities or extra lives.

Although these three series are the major ones, there are a lot of other Super Mario games released. There are Nintendo games called Super Mario Land, Mario World, Super Mario Land: 6 Golden Coins, Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, and many others. All of them were able to inspire gaming fanatics to love him even more. When Mario's popularity reached its peak, Nintendo practically went into overtime to release new games under its famous franchise annually. Nintendo is still making Super Mario games, with the latest being Super Mario Galaxy 2, which was created for the newer game consoles.

Captain America: Super Soldier

It is not always wise to make a game based on a comic book hero. The reason for this is simple. There are many movies made as a result of a comic book hero and the vast resources spent on the movie makes it near perfect. But, gaming companies don't have the huge funds available to make a game in comparison with a movie company. The result is the game becomes a low budget movie instead.

Captain America: Super Soldier is now the latest victim of this crime. The developer rushed the game onto the market too quickly. The game needed more improvement and could have been polished to make it one of the best games to hit the market this year, but alas, it's a catastrophic mistake once again.

The story in the game is much different to that of the movie. The hero, Steve is sent to a large castle situated in the mountains. The castle was once the home of Baron Zemo, a villain who used the castle as his lair. The castle is well protected with enhanced weapons and automatic guns, etc. The foes in the castle will protect it all costs as it holds a hidden secret that allows one to rule the world.

Zemo does not feature in the game. You will find out the reason when you play the game. The game is loaded with action. If you like shooting and playing the part of a soldier who kicks butt wherever he goes, then you have no reason to complain. The fighting is based on acrobatic styles and there isn't any brutal stuff involved in the game. You also have guns, batons, and other classic weapons to take down your enemies. There are also explosives and other heavy weaponry to make the game more exciting. You can block or deflect most objects thrown at you and you have a shield to help protect you. There is really no denying that the combat scenes are excellent.

The graphics is nothing spectacular but reasonable at best. The characters are pretty standard and their movement is somewhat jerking. When you talk the lips don't look real and neither are the voices.

The sound is mediocre and fits the game, but it becomes annoying after a while. You must listen to the narrative in order to proceed through the levels safely. You can't really do your own thing, but if you do stray and wander on your own disregarding the advice of the narrative, you do so at your own peril.

Coming back to the movie, the voices are not the same people, and it would have been great if it was the same cast, but it isn't. The levels are easy even if you play on the hardest level and should take about 24 hours to complete. You can unlock hidden levels and play challenge missions. Although everything is pretty standard the game is rather exciting and you may be tempted to play it again once you've finished it.

It's a small game, but purchasing it might not be such a bad thing. Captain America fans usually don't mind short games that have lots of excitement and action to keep them entertained, even though it's not for long.
