Gatling Gears Review

Gatling Gears is an exciting shooter that everyone will enjoy, from kindergarten kids to 59 yr old gamers. You pilot your ship through a mayhem of enemies and the shooting never stops. Bullets are flying everywhere and you have to try hard not to get hit. Enemy units will be swarming around you and your little ship is all that stands in the way of them destroying Mistbound, a world you swore to protect.

Vanguard Games designed this awesome game and done a pretty good job. You play a character called Max Brawley. In the co-op mode, his niece is his team mate and together they form a terrible duo. A hostile empire wants to annihilate Mistbound and they are depending on you to stop the evil invaders. You will use a dual stick to combat the enemy.

The left stick controls the gears and the right one fires your gun. The triggers on the left and right can fire a grenade launcher or a missile at a long range target. You will need long range weapons more often than you may think necessary. The ammunition will be replenished after you fire. The controls are not smooth and you will find it a bit awkward to use. They may not respond instantly and you'll be praying each time you use them.

This becomes a real problem when you're in the thick of it and your weapons aren't exactly behaving. Fortunately, the game isn't all that difficult to play. It may be a little hard but you are bound to finish the game in about 5 hours or so.

You collect money and use it to upgrade your weapons. There are plenty of gold bars to collect and by the end of the game you will have so much money, you won't know what to do with it. At least you won't be short of weapons with all that cash on hand.

The graphics are beautiful. Vanguard Games done an excellent job in the graphics department and the beautiful scenes will have you marvel at each level. This will encourage you to continue to the next level and the next and so on. You will cross deserts, forests, marshlands and many other terrains, each more exciting than the last and all of them have such marvelous scenery you will feel a kind of regret when you finish that level.

You can always change the difficulty level if you find the game too easy. If you re-play the game several times it will be more challenging to play on a higher difficulty level to enhance your experience.

All the characters have special attacks they can use and this adds another twist to the game. The music is lovely and blends in with the scenery and the action taking place. Whether you are fighting or simply cruising along, the music will put you in the mood of being in a faraway land of make belief and you won't want to return in a hurry.

Regardless of which mode you play, co-op or single player, Gatling Gears will provide long hours of entertainment and you will surely want to play it again after you finish the game.

Have A Broken PS3? This Is the Resource That You Need in Repairing Your Broken PS3 System

Something that no PS3 owner wants to experience is to approach their system and discover that it has developed a hardware malfunction. This type of situation can produce great frustration on the owner's side and can be difficult to deal with. There are many malfunctions that are plaguing many PS3 game systems today that the majority of people are not aware of. Throughout this article I'm going to describe to you exactly what you should do next if you are the owner of a broken PS3.

First, you should take some precautionary measures in observing how deep the issues are throughout your system. I will describe a few steps that you should first take your system through in surveying the issue. Initially you want to make sure that your system is switched off and then unplug each cable that is connecting to the system. You should then allow the system to rest for at least 5 to 10 minutes, after this time period has passed you should then reconnect each cable that you initially disconnected and now power on the system. Now, survey the system and observe if the issue is still apparent. If you have found that this did not remedy the problem you should now attempt to disconnect the hard drive from the system. Simply remove the hard drive from the system's hard drive bay and then reconnect it, after this process is complete you should power on the system to check if the issue still persists. This can very well solve many issues that are apparent in these systems, although the mass majority of systems will not be remedied with these simple processes.

If you have found that these processes that have been described did not fix the issue that your PS3 video game system is having, the issue may be a little more difficult to resolve. This may cause more frustration on your side but I reassure you that this can still be fixed in minimal time without any wasted effort.

If you want your system completely repaired then you now have two options, you can either send your system to Sony or you can simply fix the issue yourself. When many individuals are confronted with these two options they may think that performing a self-repair on a console such as this will be very difficult and risky. I can tell you firsthand that virtually anyone can complete repairs for a broken PS3 system, not to mention that the advantages that a self-repair offers greatly outweigh resorting to Sony for repairs.

A short comparison between these two services will show these differences. First would be the price, with Sony you will be paying at least $150, when you can resolve the problem for under $40 with a self-repair. Next would be the time frame in which you would have to wait, with Sony you will be waiting at least eight weeks, when you can have your system working within the next hour with a self-repair.

Repairing a PS3 video game system yourself is actually easily done. You only need minimal tools along with basic knowledge on how to use a screwdriver. If you wish to have your system repaired immediately for less than a fourth of Sony's price click here immediately for your broken PS3.

Half-Minute Hero: Super Mega Neo Climax Edition

Half-Minute Hero was released about two years ago and was touted one of the most exciting RPGs of all time. Indeed, gamers from all over the world scrambled to buy the game the moment it was released and it became the best selling RPG within months. No one could deny that Half-Minute Hero wasn't worth all the hype.

Half-Minute Hero: Super Mega Neo Climax Edition is the latest release and is the sequel to the first game. It has a brand new interface with HD graphics with awesome sound and scenes that make it another sure winner. For those who love RPGs, you can't go far wrong from getting your hands on a copy of this game.

The world is under threat once more and you play three characters in the game who try and save the world from extinction. An evil lord, a knight and a princess are the last hopes mankind has. On each level you move around as quickly as possible fighting random battles and if you don't get to the highest point in a certain amount of time, the world is lost. You collect items, like health, and money on your quest. There are many hidden treasures which add to the excitement of the game. You ride beasts of fire, talk with bats, and some other cool stuff. It's pretty much the same as the first game, except the graphics are vastly improved.

There are different modes which get revealed when you complete your missions successfully and they are not all RPGs. You'll find some pretty surprises that will make the game more enjoyable as it deviates from the main theme. You need to concentrate and play wisely. Time is short and you can't afford to roam aimlessly as death is always an ever present danger. The battles are hard and require clear thinking on your part. You can buy armor and weapons with the cash you collect and improve your combat skills.

Sometimes you need to avoid evil spells that get more powerful as the game progresses and even lesser evils await you at every corner. You will be motivated to replay the game over and over to improve your combat skills. The gameplay is quite addictive and you will not put the controls down for minor disturbances. The characters are fairly easy to control and the movements are smooth and responsive. You should master all the moves quickly at the beginning stages of the game.

You can play online with real people and this is more exciting than playing the CPU. Half-Minute Hero: Super Mega Neo Climax Edition will appeal to children and adult gamers alike. The narrative doesn't have any language restrictions so younger children can enjoy the game as well.

Comparing the two versions may be a bit unfair. The original always has the advantage over the first. The sequel in this instance will serve as a reminder that the first game was totally new and provided gamers with something they didn't see before. The sequel has all of the first ones advantages, but some people may feel they are playing the old game, with a little touch up.

Catherine PlayStation 3 Review

Catherine is a game like no other and doesn't fit into any genre. The plot is bizarre and so unusual it can lead to nightmares and sleepless nights for many gamers. It is about a love triangle involving two women. The relationship turns very bad but those gamers willing to play to the bitter end will be glad they did.

The main character is Vincent who is about 32 yrs old and he is in a relationship with Katherine. Yes, with a K. He is an easy going, laid back type of guy, who takes things one day at a time. Nothing seems to ruffle his feathers. Katherine, on the other hand is very serious, ambitious and goal oriented.

On a night out by himself, Vincent meets Catherine. Yes, with a C. They end up in bed together and spend the night in wild ecstasy. Catherine is more like Vincent and they share a lot in common. She is also very beautiful and attractive. From then on Vincent is driven mad with terrifying nightmares. He cannot forgive himself for cheating and his life becomes a turmoil of confusion and guilt. In his dreams he has to climb huge towers of stone and talking sheep hound him. Young men at that time are dying in their sleep and this adds to Vincent's psychological troubles.

Although this is only a game, the story is very real. Adult gamers will relate to the love and commitment issues involved in the storyline and perhaps this game is truly only for adults. Kids may not grasp the complex relationship issues present in the game. It is this aspect of the game that makes it so unique. Capturing such qualities in a video game isn't the norm and quite difficult to accomplish. However, the developer has done a superb job in the romance and relationship department. Mature adults will find the game rather comforting and realistic.

Vincent plays a very realistic character and the problems and obstacles he encounters are true to many real life love triangles. The decisions and choices he makes may not be the right ones, but how many of us have made terrible mistakes in our own real life relationships and lived to regret it later?

Vincent spends a lot of time with his friends in a singles bar, and they try and give him advice regarding his personal life. He has to juggle between his own conscience and those friends who mean well. Things start out simple, but gets very complicated as you move from one level to the next.

While Vincent is in the bar Catherine and others sends him text sms's and he has to reply quickly. Depending on what he answers the game can take unexpected twists. Writing a review on this game can be hard. You need to play the game and come to your own conclusion whether it is good or bad. The game can be too confusing for some and easy for others.

MW3 and Duke Nukem As First Person Shooters

When I was just a kid, playing around on my mom's computer, I remember the absolutely terrible "video games" she brought back home from school for me to play and "educate myself" on. Back then, that was what a PC was for; learning and research, not video games. But one day my friend snuck over a new game I had heard whispered about in the elementary school halls. All I could really gather from it was something about aliens, bubble gum, and kicking ass. So we started up Windows 95 and he let me play Duke Nukem 3D, and it was the first time I had laughed, felt scared and been excited all at the same time while playing a game. By this time, the N64 was out and very popular and Goldeneye 007 was still the king of FPS predecessors, but Duke Nukem blew everything I knew completely out of the water.

15 years later, the rumored sequel to Duke Nukem 3D, Duke Nukem Forever, was set to be released and though excited as I was, there was just no way that any game in history could survive over 15 years of hype, hysteria and rumors. I can now say, as a twenty-something college graduate, that I have played all the way through Duke Nukem Forever (something I would love to go back and boast to my 8-year old self) and sincerely enjoyed it.

Does that mean that I, with any good conscience, would advise anyone out there to buy this game? Definitely not. If you were a Duke fan back in the day, maybe you might enjoy the one-liners and throwbacks to the old games, so maybe the nostalgia will be worth the $50 price tag. On the heavier other hand, the graphics and design are crude, mismatched and incredibly dull; the gameplay is a mind-numbingly boring point and shoot exercise; and, for what it's worth, the game didn't take long to beat and certainly shouldn't be very hard for anyone.

From playing Duke Nukem when I was young to playing Call of Duty today, my intensity for gaming has still been the same all along, perhaps even more intense than it has ever been before.

First Person shooters have always been my genre of games above all others. First person shooters like Duke Nukeem, MW3/, and Battlefield 3 are at the top of the list in the world and in my world.

Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters

If you watched the big screen movie universe then this game is based on that story, but unfortunately it doesn't depict the movie. Hal Jordan is your character and you belong to the Green Lantern Corps, a police force that has to protect the earth from machines who want to destroy mankind.

The storyline is mostly in text and you have to read everything as you progress through the levels. There is no voice narrative which is rather disappointing. In today's world of gaming that's a big negative as the technology is so advanced in voice narrative a developer cannot be forgiven for omitting this important aspect to a game. It may as well be 1996 and you still have a 486 with no multimedia.

But the good part is that there is plenty of combat and you will really enjoy using your lantern to strike at the enemies. Yes, there are no guns. You fire a green light that vanquishes your enemies. You will find this is quite exciting and keeps the game interesting as the battles are fierce and hard. You can design anything out of green light and use it as a weapon. You collect items as you move along and scan their images, then you can use that information to create your own. It takes a while to build the items and use them later in the game. Some people may find this annoying, but it teaches you to be patient.

You travel around different planets and each one has its own obstacles and enemies to fight. The combat scenes are brilliant, despite the absence of voices. The action is certainly electrifying and you will definitely love playing the part of a policeman.

The manhunters are a cut throat bunch of machines that make dangerous combatants, so you need to be extra careful as death is not far away. The graphics are quite good and the characters are very interesting and unusual.

Many gamers love cartoon games and this one is certainly worth playing. It appeals mostly to younger gamers who are still in school, so adults may find it a little childish. Perhaps the developers deliberately left out the voice narrative, so that kids are forced to improve their reading skills when playing the game.

The green blast that destroys the enemy is also more appealing to younger players as adults prefer more gruesome graphics. It's a great game for your kids. The controls respond beautifully to your commands and everything is smooth and responsive. There are not many complicated movements and everything is pretty basic.

Generally, it's an average game that provides lots of fun and entertainment. The combat is the most rewarding and there is plenty of it to keep you busy. Its well worth your time and effort to play to the end, and the game is reasonably priced.

Get a copy and start playing. You'll soon feel less stressed and more relaxed and by the time you complete all the levels, you'll feel satisfied that you didn't let this title get away.

Hunted: The Demon's Forge

Hunted: The Demon's Forge is supposed to be an RPG game. But its so action packed you'll swear you're playing an action arcade game. From start to finish, there is not a moment to rest in this action packed series. This is the kind of game the Playstation 3 was designed for. You'll be glad to own one.

It's the story of two mercenaries on a quest to save the world. Of course, they have to make money on the way. That's what mercenaries do. E'Lara is a sexy woman Elven dressed in skimpy seductive outfits. You will wonder where she hides that heavy armor she carries around. Caddoc is her sidekick. Together they form a remarkable team. They work in unison to combat all kinds of threats, but yet they don't do anything extraordinary. You won't find any unusual or breathtaking stunts, but you will still enjoy the stuff they do together. These are two characters you will love.

You will move onto one adventure to the next, but none of them are really enticing enough for you to keep going past bedtime. Most of the scenes are bland and boring. The graphics are not something to rave about. Everything seems so plain and simple. The action does become repetitive after a while. You are doing the same things over and over.

The other characters are nothing to make you ecstatic. They are made up of simple graphics, lacking in real life emotions and even when they speak, it's very unrealistic. Their facial features barely move. Their pixels lack any luster and the colors are dark.

The best part of the game is the combat E'Lara and Caddoc are engaged in. Caddoc's primary weapon is his sword and E'Lara focuses on her bow. They can attack with long range weapons as well if need be. There are many obstacles they can hide behind for cover. The most exciting combat is when Caddoc is slashing and hacking with his sword. You simply rush the enemy and slash him until he dies. On the playstation 3 you will just be hitting the attack button, nothing more.

You can also play co-op, and that will make the game more interesting. It's better to just take out the enemies with your slashing sword, and much more fun too. After a while this may get tedious, but that's basically all you do. You can use some of your magic, but that's not as exciting as it may seem. Most gamers will prefer to use the sword to wipe out enemies. There are no complicated strategies to consider, you just move forward all the time.

If you play the game with a co-op friend you may find it more enjoyable than single player. If you're connected to the Internet, you can play with people online and this adds some sort of variety to the game that dissipates some of the boredom. In this mode you may find that co-operation between players will reward you greatly. Partners that have been killed can be revived if you get close enough to throw a potion to them and you can use magic to enhance their abilities.

For most of the game Caddoc and E'lara are close together and they very rarely split up. The mechanics of the game are somewhat different to similar RPGs. But it's refreshing to know that future RPGs may use the mechanics of Hunted.

3D Classics: Urban Champion

This game was first released back in 1986 by Nintendo and then it was one of the worst games to hit the market. Now Nintendo has done it again. Urban Champion is a very limited and very basic game that feels outdated and gamers will be disappointed once again.

In Urban Champion, Nintendo has attempted to make the street fighting more exciting and gave the 3D effects more spice and flare, but the changes are too small and do not make the game any better. The visuals have changed little compared to that of previous 3D Classics and many will argue that it has even deteriorated. The graphics are poor for a modern game. The brawls in the streets are uninteresting and boring. There is very little background movement which makes the game bland and stale.

The game does have extra visual modes which enable you to switch angles on the camera and see the city blocks from a 3D view, but it is so poorly done that the 3D effect doesn't make it look better. The camera doesn't do this automatically. You have to manually activate this feature which is really frustrating. If you're engaged in a street fight, the last thing on your mind is working the camera.

The fighting is heavily flawed. You can hit your opponent with either weak or strong punches. You can strike him in the face or on the body. Pretty standard moves. Your opponent is made up of a vanilla opponent who doesn't seem to have much agility. He can hit you with the same standard moves. You either block or counter.

It seems Nintendo has put the game on the market too quickly. It feels like you're playing a rough draft of the game and not the finishing product. Much more could have been put into the game to make it more interesting and better looking. Gaming companies shouldn't be allowed to put games on the market that seem to be half finished.

Nintendo claims a great deal of effort went into creating the game. The very first episode is poorly remembered and this stigma makes Urban Champion disliked. However, you don't find many positive reviews and every one seems to think the game is of a low standard. The development team do deserve credit for trying to bring an old game to life, but all they done was give it a few new touches and paintwork. No matter how much polish they give it though, you can't revive this game. It was dead 25 years ago and doesn't deserve to be called a classic.

Maybe its time Nintendo gave up on this game and move onto something new.

Flight Control Wii Review

There's no denying that Firement is a gaming studio that knows what they are doing. Flight Control is another masterpiece they've been working hard on. Now they are distributing it on as many gaming platforms as possible.

The iPhone was the first device to get Flight Control. The controls were designed specifically for touch screens and it worked perfectly. Then the game morphed to other platforms and the controls were adapted, and this didn't do the game much good.

If you play the game on Wii you control the plane with the IR. This doesn't give you the same smooth control experienced with the iPhone. Direct input on the iPhone meant you could react faster and when you were swarmed with enemy aircraft you could stay in control and dodge every enemy plane that came at you. But not so with the Wii remote. You will find yourself overwhelmed by enemy aircraft and a control that doesn't give you the ability to counter them. The game is just too hard to play on the Wii. Your reflexes will be slower.

The advantage is the Wii version has multiplayer mode and in this mode, the game becomes easier as you have help from other players. The game is still hard, but now you have others to take care of some of the enemy units. This is a godsend which at least gives you a fighting chance. Another fun factor is that you're not alone and with other people present you can coordinate and plan attacks. The iPhone version could only be played in single player mode and made many a gamer lonely.

So Flight Control isn't really a bad game for the Wii after all. Who would have guessed that a grave disadvantage could become one of its greatest assets? You can also help each other in multiplayer mode and mess with your friends' brains, adding more fun to the game. For example, you could send your plane on a collision course with theirs and turn around just at the last moment, but don't try this with your old man, his ticker won't take the stress and he could end up having a stroke.

Playing the game by yourself will be a bad choice, so stick with multiplayer mode and you've got yourself a great game. The game is really an immense pleasure to play and will give you hours of fun and entertainment, just include as many friends as possible to join you. They'll love you to bits for it.

Do You Want to Copy Your Favourite Video Games? How to Copy Video Games With the Right Software

Most video game users spend a lot of money each month to feed their insatiable habit and the last thing they want to happen is to damage their investment. This is why it is essential to use a program to copy video games. If anything happens to the original you won't be out of pocket and the only cost will be a blank DVD. Thankfully with advances in technology it's incredibly easy to copy video games with the right software.

If you've tried in the past to burn a game with the same software used to copy music and ended up wasting a blank disc, the reason is because game discs are manufactured with built in copyright protection. This feature is designed to prevent users from making a copy. Computers aren't designed to be able to read the data on the disc and therefore unable to make a copy. However the good news is that this copyright protection can be easily bypassed when using the correct program for the job. There are a number of outstanding softwares specifically designed for copying your video games.

The sole purpose of this software is to make a backup of a game you personally own and is not intended for copying games rented from your local video shop. This is illegal and by no means am I encouraging you to do this.

The software programs are incredibly easy to use and it as simple as putting the original game into your computer, pressing a button. A copy will be backed up to your hard drive. Then you put a blank disc into your computer and wait until the data has been burned onto it. The whole process takes minutes to complete and is really as simple as that.

Most people have this impression that to copy video games is extremely difficult and only a professional computer whiz kid can perform such a task. With the right software it is easy for anyone to do without any problem. There is a lot of information on the web about having to mod your console, which ultimately invalids the warranty. Not something I would suggest.

For those who are considering buying a game copying software I would suggest you look for one which comes with a guarantee, that way you get peace of mind and if you run into any problems you can get your money back without any problems.

If your seriously interested in protecting your investment it is vital to copy video games just in case anything happens to the original. For one of the top rated game back up programs check out this website http://www.easycopyvideogames.com/

Is It Illegal to Copy Wii Games?

The one statement that I see floating around the internet on a regular basis is that making copies of your Wii games is illegal. Is this true? Can I copy Wii games? Yes & no depending on your circumstances and reasoning behind doing it. I'm going to explain different scenarios, which can see you get in trouble, and the ones that are perfectly fine to do.

Firstly I would advise you check the local copyright laws in your area, since they can differ from place to place. Upon writing this article, in my area, these scenarios that I provide are correct, some being legal and some illegal, however things can and do change. So keep up to date and stay out of trouble.

I've borrowed a disc from a friend and want to make a copy?

We have all been there many times. Your friend has a very good time that he/she keeps bragging about how brilliant it is. They finally complete it, and let you borrow it. Under the terms that you make copy the Wii game and give the original disc back straight away. In this situation this is illegal! Since you do not own the disc, you were not the original purchaser of the video game. Therefore this goes against copyright laws and could land you in some serious trouble. Tell your friend you can borrow the game, but not copy it. He will just have to wait until you complete it to get it back. Thats if he/shes willing to wait!

I just rented a video game from the game store, now I want to make a copy

I have seen this numerous times, where people rent a new game they want for 2-3 days. Before they have to return the disc, they decide to make a backup of it. Therefore they don't ever have to rent this game out again, and are also avoiding paying full price for the game. Again this is illegal! You have not purchased the game yourself, and are risking landing yourself in big trouble if caught. Don't do it!

I own a video game, but want to make copies and give to my friends/family

This time you tick the right box in terms of that you own the game yourself. Yes it is your personal game. However making copies and then distributing them for free is not allowed! You can only create backups for personal use and not to provide for others. Your friends and family may peer pressure you into doing this. But stay strong and say no. Its not worth the hefty fines is you are caught.

Can I copy my video game and then sell for profit then?

No way! This is the worst thing you can do and it will get you in a whole heap of trouble. Yes people do this, and yes you can buy copied games some places. But it is illegal to copy games and distribute them for profit.

So what can I do?

You are allowed to backup and copy games for your own personal use. Meaning that if you purchased the game originally, you can create a duplicate in case the master copy becomes damaged or lost. This is legal but remember you must not distribute or market these copies!

So how do I copy Wii games?

First you need to get your hands on the right software that can copy Wii games. Then you can backup your entire game collection, possibly even some of the top five best-selling ever.

Do I Need Technical Experience to Copy Wii Games?

For a long time I believed that copying games required a high level of expertise, and a lot of research. Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team

Warhammer 40,000 is the most popular war game on the planet and in the entire universe and has so many different platforms. Ask any kid what's his favourite game and the chances are its Warhammer 40,000. But Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team is another story.

This version we talking about is designed for the Playstation 3 and although the graphics are nice and the game looks good, there are some serious faults with the gameplay.

Warhammer fans know that a 'kill team' is a team of marines that take on highly specialised military missions in space. Orks are the main enemy and they fly massive ships with all kinds of advanced technology. In this episode of Warhammer you choose your warship then you chase Ork Kroozers around the universe and blast them into oblivion. Your main objective is to cripple their mother ship ending their dreams of subjugating the human race.

Multiplayer mode is the best option for this game. Every player can select a different class ship and this will give you more variety of weapons and more firepower. During play you will unlock secret weapons and your team will become more awesome.

The campaign is short, but don't think you will finish the game quickly. The gameplay is very difficult to complete and you will die countless times before you get the hang of it. Your team players have to work in collaboration with each other to avoid getting wiped out by the enemy. There are many death traps and unforeseen dangers in space besides the orks. Your team's survival really does depend on every player doing his part. Fool around and it's your end. This game is intended for serious war fans only.

The most serious complaint about the game is that you cannot save while in the middle of a mission. That means you have to start all over again if you die and play the entire level again. For a modern game this is a serious flaw. You will be fending off waves of orks in a minefield and any explosion nearby can take out your ship as well. If you die then you need to start that level from scratch. This is the most unforgiving fault in gaming history. Many players will not have the pleasure of seeing the end of the game as their chances of reaching the final stage is almost zero. To make matters worse, any team mates in the vicinity will die as well if your ship explodes.

Kill Team could have really been a great RPG and a brilliant shooter. The action is fantastic and the graphics do the game much justice, but the difficulty of the game is a serious flaw. Most of the fun is taken away by the sheer unforgiving nature of the gameplay.

Many Warhammer fans love being a perfect soldier, but requiring them to be super human is asking too much. Console games are supposed to be fun and entertaining, but when it becomes too serious it ends up making you furious instead.

Why Mario Games Are So Popular

When you look at the popularity meter of computer games, Mario still makes it well after all these years. The first Mario game was released more than 20 years ago and yet it managed to keep its high level of fame. Indeed, they are one of the most-well loved games of all time. This cute little plumber has certainly captured the hearts of many. Mario games continue dominating the charts because they are not just created well, they have also successfully set the standards in computer gaming.

Since Mario's debut, the total number of his appearances in games has reached 200. This is how popular he really is. The game where Mario was first seen though was in Nintendo's Donkey Kong. It was released in 1981 and he wasn't the lead character in it. Mario games have been the best-selling ones of all times since that fateful day when Nintendo decided to give him his very own game that soon became a series because it immediately became popular among the community at that time.

At first, they were platform games. Then they evolved into other things. Right now, there are Mario games that touch racing, sports, fighting, puzzles, and role-playing. There are almost all types of games that span all genres with Mario at the helm. For this reason alone, he was able to provoke the interest of enthusiasts of varied taste.

As a short overview, Mario is a video game character created by Shigeru Miyamoto, a Japanese designer. He had given Mario both an Italian and an American heritage. By profession, he is a plumber. Mario is short and pudgy and is living in a place called Mushroom Kingdom. As a plumber, he stops many of Bowser's turtle villains as he goes about his work. However, Bowser is the antagonist and the story proceeds with him kidnapping Princess Peach. Bowser has all intentions to take over the kingdom.

The main series, which is simply named as Super Mario Bros, is the most popular installment. Other Mario games such as Mario Kart, Paper Mario, and Mario's Time Machine became household names at some point. However, even with all of them combined, they won't be able to beat the influence that Super Mario Bros has made among the fans.

Slowly, Mario games ceased to be just games. He started to penetrate the TV, film, and comics. Mario as a character had also appeared in many merchandise like shirts, toys, pens, books, and many others. This is when Mario's popularity can't be contained anymore. From the gaming console, he jumped and bumped into many other arenas to further increase his fame.

These are actually the reasons why they are popular then and now. They still make waves even if there weren't any new releases coming out in the future. They weren't just able to set the standard in the industry - it has created several milestones along the way too. These amazing games are between the most-played ones all over the world. The exciting pacing and easy playing make Mario games perfect for every gaming enthusiast.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

This kind of game is quite difficult to produce as it has to follow the storyline of the actual movie. The developers have successfully created the story and the characters to closely depict the movie. Everything you see in the movie is there.

For fans of Harry Potter it will be an interesting and exciting experience to finally play the game that made the movie so popular. Gringotts Bank and Hogwarts will be present just like in the movie. You can play any key character you fancy. The characters are realistic and have the familiarity of that in the movie, so you will feel comfortable with this game.

If you read the book you may find it's more of an adventure with sporadic bits of action. The book was riveting and no one can actually criticize it. But in the game there is so much action, you won't have time to take a breather. Every level and scene is filled with intense action no matter which character you choose to play.

The levels are challenging but not too difficult so it's not frustrating at all. You will love progressing from one level to the next in record time in this fast paced action version of Harry Potter. You need to avoid the death squads as you shoot at your enemies. Many obstacles stand in your way, but if you play wisely they won't present any real problem. The spells are easy to overcome if you use your head.

The shooting and action is really enjoyable. You can never tire of it, no matter how repetitive it becomes after a while. Some of the weapons in your arsenal are similar to those of a sniper's rifle, machine gun, rocket launcher, grenade, or explosives. Many shooters lack depth, but Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 is something that has an element of excitement throughout the game. The death eaters are always present and can become a bit of a nuisance as they inhibit your progress. You may prefer to face other opponents after a while. There is not a variety of enemies and every level provides more of the same.

The movements of the characters are a bit mechanical and you would wish they were more human. This is a result of the game engine employed and the developers could certainly have done more to improve it. The ghosts don't move smoothly as they float around. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 is not the most exciting thing since sliced bread and although it's entertaining and fun, and sometimes laughable, it does a good job of the story.

Once you finish the game, there's not much incentive to re-play it again. But you would have loved finishing it and being able to tell your friends' about it. You can unlock other hidden features and collect things that are not generally available and some may find this exciting, but it doesn't contribute much to the end result.

It's well worth your time to play the game nevertheless so keep looking for a copy if you haven't found one yet.

Rugby Challenge PlayStation 3 Review

FIFA 11 and Rugby Challenge have a lot of similarities which leads us to think that Sidhe has probably copied everything from FIFA 11 and inserted it into their own game and renamed it Rugby Challenge. This may be a good thing though, as the graphics are brilliantly constructed and leave rugby fans in awe.

The world's most famous teams all feature in this edition of rugby for the PlayStation 3. Australia and New Zealand are there as well as America. All of England's rugby teams feature, Wales, Ireland, Scotland which makes Rugby Challenge a comprehensive rugby game that all enthusiasts will love. Unfortunately, South African teams are left out of the licensing and fans will have to make do with faceless players and make-believe. Fortunately, you get to play all the major rugby games in the world. A feature that was absent in the recently released Rugby World Cup 2011.

The best option for the game is career mode and you are in charge of a country or rugby club and you have that job for 13 glorious seasons, to dummy and side-step to your heart's content. Kicking and running on the field are very similar to real life situations and there are four different kick variations you can perform with the control stick. Passing is easy to accomplish using the control stick. You should quickly master the controls without too many hick-ups. You can easily push and pull in the scrums. If you need help there is a comprehensive tutorial included and also a slow motion rules video, so even if you haven't played rugby before, it's easy to get going. You can build your own teams, buy and swap players from the different clubs and even create your own.

Although the licensing issue hampers the representation of South African teams, you can create your own players and name them as you wish. The downside is that you don't see characters with familiar faces running around on the field, but all the other major countries are fairly represented so this isn't the end of the world for rugby fans. In Rugby World Cup 2011 South African teams are also not licensed and you are severely limited in creating your own players. At least in Rugby Challenge you can build your own players from scratch or buy from other teams and insert the players into your own team.

Rugby Challenge does suffer from a few flaws though. There aren't any flashy moves on the field, or brilliant sidesteps you can perform to dazzle the crowds. All the moves are standard basic rugby tactics. If you are new to the game of rugby it won't matter, but fans who live and eat rugby will be disappointed. The commentators lack enthusiasm and their voices are without any emotion or feeling that drives the listener wild. If you've listened to a rugby game on radio or TV you will know what I'm talking about. The commentator fires you up with his fiery language and passion for the game. Much of the drama is lost with their lackluster performance.

On the field Rugby Challenge is exciting and full of action. The animations and facial expressions of the players are life-like and pump you full of adrenaline. You will have a ball of a time with this game.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Bethesda creates games which immerses the player in another world and allows him or her to explore and wander around so that you get the feel of the game naturally. Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a perfect example of such a world. This experience gives players a lot to look forward to while playing the game.

Skyrim is a city situated in Tamriel. The landscape consists of lushes green pines, mountains and lovely green valleys that stretch on endlessly. It reminds you of Sierra Nevada, the most beautiful country in the USA. The developer has put in a lot of hard work to perfect the graphics of the game. Attention to fine detail has not been overlooked and the game provides the player with a rich experience. The graphics aren't the best in gaming entertainment, but it is brilliant. The game on the whole is a complete, beautiful package that has very little flaws to complain about.

The map is designed so that the player can explore every inch of the terrain which makes the game more exciting and diverse. You can choose a character or create your own and most gamers will probably be more interested in their own character. The creation of your own character takes on much more meaning in this game as other RPGs don't give you the variety you will find here. Your character will evolve and form a personality according to its actions. For example, if you use spells to destroy enemies your magic abilities will increase. Blocking incoming strikes with your shield will improve your shield's ability to protect you from harm. Picking locks will make your skills better at this task and so on. There is also plenty of outside influence which will affect your characters development.

You will place special stones around Skyrim and they give protection and attack capability to help you defend the city. You will find that the remarkable weapons are pleasant to use and very effective. Players must look up into the sky for a visual form that will determine the skill available to them. You have a menu available with detailed information about the weapons at your disposal. This is very different to the menu in older episodes of the Elder scrolls. This time you have a favorites section to help you choose quicker and with less frustration.

Dialogue, this time, plays a very important role, and the town's well-being and safety depends a lot on how you interact with the other characters around. There is never a boring moment and good RPGs should never become stagnant while you are playing. Another amazing feature is that the quest of the game can change according to the actions your character makes. This makes the game more realistic and gives you more reason to play it again and again.

Zoonies - Escape From Makatu

Zoonies - Escape from Makatu is a nice relaxing puzzle game. The main character walks continually and all you have to do is clear obstacles in his path. You use the stylus for this task and simply tab on the touch screen. A nice little game to keep you occupied and although there were quite a few predecessors, this one is a little different.

For players who remember the earlier versions, you needed to build bridges, place trampolines and other stuff to make the path forward easy to navigate. Construction played a major role. However, in this new release, everything is already there and you don't construct anything. The bridges have to be lowered and raised by means of levers, boards have to be dragged and placed into position and blocks are broken to clear the way.

Leo, the lion hearted character will walk continually without your aid until he comes to an obstruction in his path and will stop and wait for you to find a way to clear it so that he can continue. You have to decide and act quickly, because if you take too long he can get squished and die by moving objects. The screen is continually moving so it's not safe for him to stand in one place too long.

You have sufficient time to work out a solution though, so don't act hastily and do something stupid. The developer gives you just the right amount of time to act and death will only result if you hesitate unreasonably long. If you look around wisely and identify the objects immediately surrounding you, then it's easy to keep Leo moving forward. Fool around and he will lose his life due to your incompetence.

The puzzles aren't too difficult but you will experience a fair amount of tension. It's great for improving your physics skills. Sometimes you have to swing a rope with a weight on the end so that it hits a switch or knocks down a wall.

The villain in the game is a character called Makatu. He is the leader of the tribe Tubas who are extremely hostile. Leo was flying across the jungle when his plane crashed and he survived thanks to his parachute. You don't control Leo directly but only the action surrounding him.

Leo has to flee from the Tubas and Tom foolery won't do. You act decisively throughout and the graphics and sound is quite nice too. The game is full of action and offers 20 levels of excitement. Zoonies - Escape from Makatu is available for Nintendo DSiWare and a nice game to play over and over again.

Street Fighter 3: Third Strike

Capcom has a reputation for releasing brilliant, polished games to the market. Street Fighter 3: Third Strike is another perfect example. Street Fighter is an old game given new life by Capcom. The graphics have been brilliantly updated to HD and the fighting scenes are magnificent.

Street Fighter 3 is a game for the veteran. If you haven't played any of the previous versions then it's unlikely you will master Street Fighter 3. There are a lot of complicated moves and gamers need to react with lightning fast reflexes. Block, punch, counter, somersault are just a few of the impressive moves you can accomplish with the control stick if you are a seasoned veteran. Wimps need not apply.

Luckily for you, Street Fighter 3: Third Strike includes training modes and fight trials to help new players learn the game. Veterans can also benefit by improving their fighting skills and becoming kung fu masters. The trials are very difficult but at least you can restart from where you died without having to begin all over again. Each character has its own specialty and it will be difficult to decide who you want to be.

The graphics have received a new overhaul and looks so much different and impressive compared to the older games. Fans will fall in love at first sight when the game loads and will be hesitant to put down the controls once it's in their hands. The game takes full advantage of wide screen display and looks more like a high budget movie than a game.

Real time information is displayed on the screen as you play, so that the player is aware of his stats at all times. The graphics are smooth and realistic. The picture is sharp and the HD is certainly brilliant. This could possibly be the best looking game ever. Street Fighter 3: Third Strike is Capcom's masterpiece.

You can save your episodes and upload them to YouTube for others to view. Now isn't that a cool addition? The tournament mode is probably the best option as you will participate in a variety of exciting events until you reach the finals. The sophisticated fighting system lets you climb the ranks until you become the world champion, a feat every fan will be striving for.

It may be the same game you have been playing for over a decade, but you will realize this one is super special and cannot be missed. Its money wisely spent and it should actually be law to buy this game.

MW3 - Modern Warfare 3 News and Leaks

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 will be one of the top games this fall without a doubt. The competition its dealing with is battlefield 2 which is expected to be released in October where as MW3 is to be released November 8th. One of the primary wishes gamers crave is what the community calls a leak.Leaks are when information mistakenly gets spilled out without the consent of the company in charge.

People love details and thats exactly what is going to be shared. Leaks for Call of Duty Modern Warfare range from weapons, killstreaks, perks to campaign maps, levels and multiplayer options. List of weapons leaked for call of duty range from bringing back the infamous AK-47 to the revamped Famas. Assult rifles have always been the popular class for players in Call of Duty. Sniper weapons, however on the other side have not had much publicity. Not one sniper rifle has been released and much speculation for MW3 has been around snipers. The fact that perks that have been released that match perfectly with the class of a sniper create even more speculation.

One perk leaked is the Recon. This perk practically is defined to what it is. Recon is speculated to allow the user to possibly detect assassins. This perk really would only be useful for snipers as its hard to assassinate someone walking around with a shotgun or rifle.

Another new and exciting leak for perks is the one called point guard. What this perk does is, every time you get 2 assists, it counts toward your killstreak as one kill. Although this kill is not real and will not count towards your total kill count, it will affect your killstreaks which in turn could essentially affect your killcount. So for example, will the point guard perk attached, you could have 1 kill, and 2 assists, and be able to summon the UAV. How annoying was it in the previous call of dutys to be so close to a kill streak, about to knife somone in the back only to have someone kill steal him.

Leaks in regards to levels have been around the campaigns coming out for MW3 are 3 levels called hunter killer, black tuesday, & mind gap.

Details of these mission have been limited as obviously the game is not yet out but the names of the missions have been leaked. The level Black Tuesday takes place in New York City where the U.S is defending off the Russians from invasion. The battle consists of ambushes, MI-24 helicopters, and the objective of pushing the Russians back.

This list has been confirmed by Robert Bowling at Infinity Ward.

The Three Main Super Mario Games Series

Who doesn't know about Super Mario games? There are at least three major installments, with hundreds - if not thousands - of variations available worldwide. He is that short Italian-American plumber who lives in New York. As a plumber, he goes down the sewers until he comes across the world called the Mushroom Kingdom. Mario has a brother Luigi and together they help to rescue Princess Toadstool from the evil claws of King Koopa.

The first Mario Bros arcade game was released in 1983 wherein Mario and Luigi play the main antagonist roles. This was the starting point of the very famous Super Mario games series that many people love around the world. Players become engaged to the game mainly because of its exciting storyline and colorful backgrounds. The game is set in many worlds and that fact alone gives players the push they need to finish the game.

The first Mario Bros game series is indeed a very engaging one. Being composed of eight worlds, each of them has a castle where King Koopa have kept the princess. Mario has to conquer each of these worlds, enter the castle, and defeat the minion of King Koopa that defends each of them. Mario has to go through a number of Koopa's henchmen in the form of turtles, monkeys, and bullets, among others.

The second Super Mario games series was simply entitled Mario Bros 2. After the successful rescue of the princess, players can choose between four characters: Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, or Toad. Each of these characters has unique and special abilities that will help the player in the adventure. Luigi is the one who can jump the highest. Toad is most reliable when it comes to digging. Princess Peach has the ability to float. Mario however, has a little of each of these abilities.

Super Mario Bros 3 is the third and last installment of the Super Mario game series. Here, the quest of saving the Princess is restored. Mario has to go through eight new different worlds in order to rescue her, but the battle is much fiercer now. King Bowser now has children who were called the Koopalings. Altogether, they are determined to keep Mario and his brother away from the princess. Mario and Luigi are provided with power-ups that will give him better abilities or extra lives.

Although these three series are the major ones, there are a lot of other Super Mario games released. There are Nintendo games called Super Mario Land, Mario World, Super Mario Land: 6 Golden Coins, Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, and many others. All of them were able to inspire gaming fanatics to love him even more. When Mario's popularity reached its peak, Nintendo practically went into overtime to release new games under its famous franchise annually. Nintendo is still making Super Mario games, with the latest being Super Mario Galaxy 2, which was created for the newer game consoles.

Rugby World Cup 2011

Are you a rugby fan? Then you probably know what Australia and New Zealand means to Rugby World Cup. What would it be like if both teams weren't included in the world cup?

This is practically what HB Studios has done. What the company has done is take their previous version of Rugby 08 from the playstation 2 four years ago, and zapped it up with new graphics and changed a few minor items which no one will ever notice. They gave it a new name and released it onto the market at an unacceptable high price. Now who could be more devious than that? Seems like the latest NATO fiasco in Libya has taught them that the masses are easily duped.

If you like tri-nations, super 15, and other rugby games that are not in the world cup would you still be interested? Rugby World Cup 2011 contains none of these and only 5 modes. The world cup, single international tests, warm up tours, some international tests,, penalty shoot-outs, multi-player games, but only two people can participate. Half the teams don't feature any of the current world class players, but faceless characters no one even knows. So in reality you getting half a world cup for full price. Of course, you can name the players through the games editor function, but with no faces to the characters, is that any fun?

The gameplay is equally pathetic. There are not enough options on the filed. You are severely limited in what you can do, leaving you frustrated and disappointed that you were caught yet again. If you played FIFA world cup you no doubt were dazzled by the fabulous gameplay that left soccer fans gaping in awe and admiration. Now why can't rugby fans be treated similarly and get something worthwhile?

If you play the game in multi-player mode then it becomes a little more interesting. The controls respond adequately and the moves are easily picked up. If you love rugby then playing in this mode will give you hours of fun and enjoyment despite some of the flaws inherent in the game. You will be able to perform most major maneuvers like side-step, shoulder charges, etc, and most of your enthusiasm won't be dampened after all. You can also choose to play online with players on the Internet, something which was lacking in the playstation 2 edition. The crowd seems a little pathetic. Lots more could have been done to improve the game, but once again, the developer put its own interests first, looking for a fast, easy cash cow and what better than to dupe the rugby world?

If you do get hold of the game and find it vastly disappointing, then don't despair. Rugby Challenge is due for release soon and rumor has it that the game is awesome and features so much exciting choices you will forget Rugby World Cup 2011 as a bad dream.
